Tonia Branche is a Dallas area native and first generation Sierra Leonean American. She has loved caring for kids since early childhood and continued on a lifelong journey through medicine.
She graduated from Harvard University, where she obtained her B.A. in African and African American Studies. She received her medical and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Miami. Dr. Branche completed pediatrics residency and was a Chief Resident and Assistant Instructor at UT Southwestern. She is currently a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellow at Northwestern University/Lurie Children's Hospital with a passion for health equity and advocacy as it relates to improving birth outcomes for racial and ethnic minorities. She is involved in local and national initiatives to improve equity of care in the perinatal and neonatal periods, family experiences in the NICU and diversity, equity and inclusion in medical education recruitment. Dr. Branche will be completing fellowship in summer 2023 and finally launching into her career as a neonatologist!
When she takes a break from creating her niche in the perinatal health equity space, Dr. Branche enjoys traveling, being a dog mom and exploring the food scene with her family and friends.
